Marigold & Stripes

8.17.17

I love an excuse to get dressed up and so when a friend invited me to a charity event where the invite literally said “this is an excuse to get dressed up,” I was instantly in.   (And also because everyone wants to see and end to Alzheimer's – donate here.)  Sometimes its more fun getting dressed up for a girls night then for dates and a roof top party is the perfect place to try out some new outfit combos.

This deep yellow color has been one of my favorite shades of the summer.  It looks great with a tan and feels a bit more sophisticated than the traditional summer brights.

The detail on the waist of this skirt makes it perfect for pairing with crop tops.  I was obsessed with this striped one from Saloni last summer and wore it constantly before my dry cleaner almost ruined it.  Luckily it was saved but I was with out it for a couple months so I was itching to break it out again.

I love that it is off the shoulder but has some serious structure so it stays put.  The sort of half undone bow adds a little something but is not aggressively girly.  The full zipper in the back is another great detail.

These coral Manolos are a favorite and I’ll throw them on with almost any summer outfit.  The style is super basic but flattering to the leg and I always love suede in a bold color.  The wide heel makes them easy to pair with more casual outfits too.

I grabbed my white leather eyelet Louie to round out the summery vibe of the look.  It's been one of my favorites this year.  White leather can be tricky but the eyelet style looks fresh.  The necklace I am wearing is an old one from Alexis Bitar.  I always feel the need to wear a bigger necklace with off the shoulder tops otherwise you end up looking naked in photos right?
